Everyone loves a good banana bread for when those bananas you bought turn brown. We don't like to waste so banana bread is a solid solution! Call me weird, but I like to add a healthy amount of chocolate chips, however, feel free to add anything else you'd like or keep it plain! Tools you will need for this: a loaf pan, blender, and spatula. You can use a mixing bowl if you prefer but I found a blender to be a lot more efficient. ~The Creator *Servings are for the whole loaf since pans and cut sizes can vary.
Ingredients
Amount | Food Item |
---|---|
2 cups | All purpose flour |
.5 tsp | Baking soda |
3 | Brown bananas |
1/3 cup | Brown sugar |
8 Tbsp | Butter |
2/3 cup | Cane sugar |
1 cup | Chocolate chips or other |
.75 tsp | Ground cinnamon |
.5 tsp | Ground nutmeg |
2 | Large eggs - room temp |
1 tsp | Vanilla extract |
Steps
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Put peeled bananas and cut up stick of butter in your blender. Pulse until everything is smooth.
- Add your eggs and repeat the blending process.
- Add in both of your sugars and the baking soda. Continue to blend. Do not over blend. You just want everything at this point to slowly incorporate.
- Add in your vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg and give the mixture a quick pulse to pull in the ingredients.
- Add a half a cup of flour at a time to the blender and blend in-between each addition. Take your spatula and push down the sides if needed. Once completely incorporated, remove the blades if possible, and fold in your extra mixings.
- Pour your batter into a well greased pan, tapping the sides and bottom to let out any air bubbles.
- Pop the pan into the oven once it is heated and set a timer for 30 minutes. Most likely the loaf will need 60 minutes but we want to check half way and then every 10-15 minutes after so we don't burn the bread. Check with a clean tooth pic. If it comes out clean you are done! Let cool on the counter so it slides out of the pan easier. Enjoy!
